Happy Halloween!

This month marks four (4) years since the launching of the Executive Message.  Our goal was to keep everyone informed as much as possible on all the happenings at the pantry and things we feel are important for the public to know.  We feel we have been accomplishing this and hope that you feel the same.  Your feedback/comments are important to us therefore feel free to contact either via email or phone.

Announcement – Ken Connors (KMFP Trustee), Maria Connors (KMFP Registrar) and I have been appointed to serve as members on the Advisory Council to the Monmouth County Office on Aging by the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Monmouth County.  Each one of us brings knowledge to the council based on our area of expertise.  The Monmouth County Office on Aging Director is Mr. Tom Pivinski and the Division on the Aging office is located in Freehold.  These are the Committees to which we have been assigned to and hope to fulfill our responsibilities to the best of our abilities.
Veteran Affairs – Ken brings knowledge of Veteran Affairs based on over 30 years of membership with the American Legion.  He is currently employed as the Assistant Department Service Officer with the American Legion Department of NJ in Newark.
Hispanic Seniors – Maria brings her fluency of the Spanish language and her time serving at the pantry as the Registrar and interfacing with our Spanish clientele of all ages.
Invisible Seniors and Grant Reviewer – Isaiah brings knowledge of his many years serving at the pantry and having knowledge of numerous resources and information via his affiliations with many organizations and county offices as KMFP Executive Director.
Christmas Sponsors – are needed for the KMFP Children.  As of October 1st we started signing up the children for Christmas gifts. Last year over 200 children were signed up and due to Associate Director Marge Conway’s hard work and in conjunction with churches, businesses, and individuals all of them received gifts. We hope that this year we can once again find sponsors for all the children being signed up. Please spread the word in your respective houses of worship, organizations, and businesses and among your family and friends. For further sponsorship information please contact Marge Conway on (732) 888-1986 during our hours of operation (Tuesdays and Thursdays – 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM) or stop by.  Marge will be very happy to see you or hear from you.
Please – Help us put a smile on a child’s face Christmas Day!

KMFP Clientele – continues to increase.  In the month of September 2009 we served 211 families equating to 404 Adults and 309 Children under the age of 18.  This is the largest number as of right now that we have served since the founding of the pantry in 1983. Many of our donors are not known to us because they donate via their house of worship, organization, etc. therefore on behalf of all us at the KMFP we want to say Thank You for all your donations throughout the year which made it possible for us to maintain our doors open so we can feed all these families.  I am leaving you with these statistics and remember we still have three (3) more months left in 2009.
