November 11th is Veteran’s Day – Take a moment to remember and say thank you to all the brave men and women that have served in the armed forces so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today. We also ask that you remember all our troops who are currently serving as well as their families. From all of us at the KMFP - Thank you to all our Veterans and to all who are currently serving.

Happy Thanksgiving!  It is a wonderful holiday to share with your family and friends.  As you plan and go shopping for your dinner, we ask that you please remember those that will not be able to enjoy this holiday like most of us.  The latest economic situation in our country has affected all of us in one way or another.   Now think of what it is doing to people that are barely making ends meet and have a family to feed.

When you go shopping for your holiday dinner, please help us by possibly picking up an extra non-perishable food item and donating it to us for distribution.  We also have quite a number of singles and two (2) adult clients who would be very grateful for a small turkey breast or small ham with a few small cans of vegetables and other non-perishable items for them to enjoy their holidays as well.  Please contact Marge Conway, KMFP Associate Director on (732) 888-1986 at the pantry during our hours of operation if you wish to provide a donation.
Due to our limited freezer space if you would like to donate turkeys, hams, etc. we would ask that you contact us first.

During the month of October, we signed up over 200 of our client’s children to receive Christmas gifts.  We still have children that need sponsoring, please spread the word.  For more information on how you or an organization can become a Sponsor, please contact Marge Conway, KMFP Associate Director during our hours of operation on (732) 888-1986 for further information.

One of our volunteers Lisa Toms has taken what used to be a not to pretty area to look at, by the side of our door, and turned it into something that we all are enjoying.  Lisa took the time to clean up the space and put in plants and mulch.  Thank you Lisa we truly appreciate all your hard work not only for the plants but also for everything you do at the pantry.

Our latest status:

In the month of October 2008, we served 156 families equating to 313 Adults and 245 Children. This is the largest number that the KMFP has served since its founding in 1983.

Thank you to all the individuals, churches, and organizations that continue to provide us with the extra food donations that we so desperately need.

YOU are the reason that we are able to keep our doors open
and continue to assist those that are in dire need within the communities we serve.
  1. Thank you to Sandra Shevlin – KMFP Trustee for volunteering her time at the Keyport Country Jamboree held on October 12th at the cake sale and pie and cake contest to benefit our pantry.
  2. Thank you to all the people that made it possible for us to benefit from the following food drives:  Crop Walk (Red Bank) and the Keyport Mothers Club.  A special “Thank You” to the above mentioned organizations for all their hard work and making us part of their cause.
  3. Once again, this year we signed up with One Warm Coats (www.onewarmcoats.org).  We have received donations of adults and children coats from the Centrex Sports Club, which we are currently distributing to our clients during our hours of operation.  Thank you to this sponsor for their support in helping us provide a little extra warmth to the needy families we serve.
  4. We continue our research on Federal, State, and Local grants that are available and submit applications whenever we meet the criteria.
  5. We continue to receive donations toward our new building fund.  We ask that you continue to help us if you can possibly do so.  Remember - no donation is too small.
If you have any questions, comments, etc. please feel free to contact us via email or call us.  As always the KMFP Staff and Volunteers are truly grateful for all your support.  Thank you!
